NEW BROCHURE DETAILS THE DURABILITY,
HIGH-PERFORMANCE AND COST-EFFECTIVENESS OF PIPE AND FITTINGS MADE FROM
CORZAN® CPVC |
|
| CLEVELAND, OH – A new, full-color brochure from Noveon,
Inc. outlines the performance benefits and application advantages of Corzan®
CPVC for industrial applications. The brochure demonstrates the proven corrosion
resistance and mechanical strength of Corzan CPVC pipe and fittings, which
make it ideal for chemical process applications that require corrosion resistance
at high temperatures.
Corzan® CPVC pipe is the only industrial piping certified to the highest cell classification of 24448 of any commercially available CPVC as defined by ASTM D1784. Under this classification, Corzan CPVC demonstrates a drop-impact strength up to three times that of non-Noveon CPVC. In addition, Corzan CPVC is backed by the highest heat distortion temperature – 239°F (115°C) – of any ASTM D1784-compliant CPVC compound on the market. For fitting compounds, Corzan CPVC is the only commercially available material that carries a pressure rating as tested by the Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI). The Listing represents PPI’s recommended hydrostatic design basis (HDB) rating for thermoplastic piping materials or pipe. To be Listed, a material must pass thousands of hours of testing while surviving temperatures and pressures specific to the HDB rating. When compared to non-Noveon CPVC materials, fittings made from Corzan CPVC demonstrated improved creep resistance and the ability to better withstand long-term, high-pressure hydrostatic pressure. In addition, when compared under the same conditions, fittings molded with Corzan CPVC compound lasted four times longer than those molded with other CPVC compounds during pressure testing at 180°F (82°C) and 551 psi. Corzan CPVC is inert to most mineral acids, bases, salts and high-molecular weight aliphatic hydrocarbons and compares favorably to other metallic and non-metallic piping systems in these chemical environments. It also performs well against strong oxidants and halogens. With its enhanced reliability and proven long-term performance characteristics, Corzan Industrial Systems are ideal for applications in the metal finishing, pulp and paper, water and waste treatment, chemical processing, semi-conductor and chlor-alkali industries.
