CORZAN™ CPVC INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS PROVIDE EASIER INSTALLATION
AND LOWER COSTS THAN METALLIC ALTERNATIVES

CLEVELAND, OH – Corzan™ Industrial Systems – comprised of durable chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipe, sheet, duct, fittings and valves – are designed to provide the easiest installation, retrofit and maintenance available to the process industry today. Since Corzan CPVC systems are installed by solvent cementing, flanging or threading, installation and retrofit costs are lower, as are maintenance costs, when compared to engineered metallic systems.

“In virtually every industry today, manufacturers are looking for more cost-effective operations without sacrificing performance,” says Rocco Mango, Corzan® CPVC Business Manager. “The savings achieved by using Corzan CPVC can be documented from beginning to end: lower material costs, lower installation costs, and lower retrofit and overall maintenance costs. This combination of features makes Corzan CPVC the preferred material for many industrial applications.”

Ideal for use in the metal finishing, pulp and paper, water and waste treatment, chemical processing, semiconductor and chlor-alkali industries, Corzan CPVC provides a unique balance of properties that combines simplicity, product performance and cost efficiency.

Superior strength and chemical resistance
In addition to its ease of installation, Corzan CPVC has a reputation across the process industry for providing exceptional corrosion resistance, superior flame spread and smoke performance characteristics, mechanical strength and excellent life cycle economics in a single package. For more than 40 years, a full line of process components made from CPVC has allowed engineers to design systems with longer service life, lower maintenance, improved process utilization and greater cost efficiency when compared to traditional metal materials.

Systems designed from Corzan CPVC demonstrate superior resistance to internal and external corrosion and, unlike metallic systems, will never pit or scale. In addition, Corzan CPVC is inert to most mineral acids, bases, salts and aliphatic hydrocarbons and compares favorably to other non-metals in these chemical environments.

Corzan CPVC pipes also feature smooth interior walls for excellent hydraulic capability. The piping system demonstrates good abrasion resistance and does not propagate fire beyond an ignition zone. Corzan CPVC pipe and fittings demonstrate low thermal conductivity. This reduces the potential for burn injuries from hot pipes and may diminish the need and expense of installing protective insulation.

When compared to conventional non-metallic system alternatives, Corzan CPVC inherently exhibits outstanding fire performance characteristics, providing better control of fire-related loss in industrial facilities. Corzan CPVC outperforms not only for flame propagation and smoke generation, but in terms of flash-ignition temperature, limiting oxygen index, and heat of combustion levels. Corzan CPVC also achieved the highest rating available within the scope of testing for UL 94 flammability compliance at V0, 5VB and 5VA.

This combination of features makes Corzan CPVC the material of choice for many industrial applications.

A complete product portfolio
Corzan CPVC is available in a complete line of process components, including pipe and fittings, sheet, valves, pumps, strainers, filters, ducting, storage tanks, fume scrubbers, tower packing and process vessels.

The pipes are available in different sizes, ranging from ¼ to 16 inches (6mm – 400mm) iron pipe size (IPS) dimensions in schedule 40 and 80 piping systems. The newly introduced 14- (350mm) and 16-inch (400 mm) diameter pipes were developed to meet large volume needs to offer a complete system solution. Corzan CPVC sheet and ductwork are also available in a wide range of sizes to meet various application requirements.
